How to choose the right bath mat
A bath mat keeps water off your bathroom floor and gives you a comfortable spot to step out of the shower. Our range covers cotton, microfibre and bamboo bath mats, so the main choices come down to material and style.
Tufted mats have a raised pile. Terry mats are made from looped fabric, like a bath towel. Reversible mats can be used on either side, and anti-slip mats have a backing designed to help them stay in place. If you want a matching pair, our 2-piece sets such as Boundary and Mie come as two mats in the same design.
Caring for your cotton bath mat
Wash new cotton mats and rugs before first use. This improves hygiene and removes loose fibres, especially in open-end rugs. Some linting in the first washes is normal for natural cotton, and tufted rugs may need a few washes to stabilise. Dark colours may bleed at first, so wash them separately in cold water and keep lights and darks apart. See our bath linen care guide for more.
Bath mat FAQs
Do I need to wash a new bath mat before using it?
Yes. All new cotton towels, mats and rugs should be washed before use. This improves hygiene and removes any loose fibres, especially in terry towels and open-end rugs.
Is linting normal for a cotton bath mat?
Yes. Our cotton bath linens are made from natural cotton yarns, so some linting during the first washes is normal. Depending on the yarn construction, tufted rugs may need a few washes to remove loose fibres and stabilise.
Will a dark-coloured bath mat bleed colour?
Dark colours may bleed during the first washes. Wash them separately from clothes and delicates, keep lights and darks apart, and use cold water for the first few washes to help set the colour.
How much is delivery for bath mats in Singapore?
Standard delivery is free for orders of $150 and above, and $10 for orders below $150, with delivery within 7 working days. Express delivery is $40, delivered within 1-2 working days. Free self pick-up is also available for any order value. See Shipping & Delivery.
What if my bath mat arrives defective or damaged?
Email photos or a video to hello@charlesmillen.com within 14 days of receiving your order, with the subject line "RETURN REQUEST: ORDER [#Order no.]". Items must be unused, unwashed, with hangtags attached and in their original packaging. Once approved, we will send you a replacement. See our Returns & Refunds policy.
